Head coach Cody Botts. PIAA District 4. Pennsylvania Heartland Athletic Conference. District opener loss at Montoursville, 27-28.
Cody Botts's first season on the head-coaches page was 4-7. The school district history says the team qualified for districts and played one game. That game is on the schedule: a 27-28 loss at Montoursville on Nov. 2.
Four of the seven losses were by a single score. Loyalsock won 28-27 on the road in August. Mount Carmel won 35-34 at Mifflinburg. Montoursville won the regular-season meeting 27-20, then the district game by the same margin the other way. Hollidaysburg won 37-29.
Matt Beltz's EasternPAFootball account of Sept. 6 has that Mount Carmel game. Mount Carmel's quarters were 20-6-6-3. Mifflinburg's were 7-20-7-0. The box lists Mount Carmel 2-1 and Mifflinburg 0-3. Cooper Karycki ran 26 times for 230 yards and two touchdowns. Radwil Susan scored from the 4, the 5, and the 3. Landen Murray's 91-yard kickoff return put Mifflinburg on the board. Chad Martin was 10 of 17 for 179 yards, and his 4-yard pass to John Parker Marr as the half ended gave Mifflinburg a 27-26 lead. Robert Schoppy's 20-yard field goal with 5:39 left was the last score. The story calls the opening drive seven plays. The scoring line prints eight.
The four wins were 42-8 at Milton, 34-26 at Southern Columbia, 56-0 over Central Columbia, and 76-8 at Midd-West. An Aug. 17 scrimmage at Bloomsburg is not in the 4-7.
Matt Beltz's EasternPAFootball account of Aug. 30 has Danville winning that home game 54-8. Danville's quarters were 14-33-7-0. Mifflinburg's were 0-0-0-8. The box lists Danville 2-0 and Mifflinburg 0-2, a week after the 27-28 loss at Loyalsock. Cole Duffy intercepted Chad Martin's first pass, returned a punt 19 yards, and caught five passes for 165 yards and two touchdowns, with 216 all-purpose yards. Madden Patrick's passing line is 12 of 19 for 256 yards and three touchdowns. The team passing line prints Danville at 12 of 22. Bo Sheptock ran 14 times for 207 yards and three scores. Mifflinburg ran 27 times for 33 yards and was at minus-3 on the ground in the first half, including a fumbled punt snap that became a safety.
