Mifflinburg Football 2012 Season

Jason Dressler's 2012 team went 2-8. The coaching-records line is 1-5 in the division and 1-8 in the league. The two wins were 17-0 at Jersey Shore on Sept. 28 and 7-6 over Towanda on Oct. 5. The losses were 0-3 to Selinsgrove, 20-26 at Shikellamy, 10-26 to Milton, 13-23 at Danville, 20-21 at Shamokin, 22-39 to Bloomsburg, 21-52 to Montoursville, and 6-38 to Lewisburg. No playoff game is on the schedule.

William Albright's EasternPAFootball account of Sept. 28 has that Jersey Shore game at Thompson Street Stadium. Both teams came in 0-4, and neither scored in the first half. Shore reached the Mifflinburg 3 and came up short on fourth down. On the last play of the half, Dustin Mertz's halfback option to Patrick Crissman gained 41 yards to the Shore 9, and a spike failed as time ran out. Victor Suquet kicked a 37-yard field goal in the third quarter. Kyle Failor then hit Oakley Whitesel from 18 yards, and Chris Temple scored from the 1 after Nazar Mironenko forced and recovered a fumble. Mifflinburg's quarters were 0-0-3-14. First downs were even at 12. Mifflinburg ran 37 times for 126 yards and threw for 101. Failor was 3 of 10 for 24 yards and the touchdown. Devon Hendrix was 5 of 9 for 36, and Mertz was 1 of 1 for 41. Temple led the rushers with 51 yards on eight carries. Shore ran 42 times for 135 yards and passed for 50, with two interceptions.

David Mika's week 10 shout-out credited Lewisburg's Brandon Smith with 205 yards and four touchdowns, three rushing and one receiving, in the 38-6 win. The schedule has that game at home on Nov. 2. A public film from Sept. 7 is the 20-26 loss at Shikellamy.
