The schedule opens 3-0: 39-20 at Hughesville on Aug. 23, 39-13 over Bloomsburg on Aug. 30, and 48-7 over Milton on Sept. 6. A 42-0 win over Warrior Run on Sept. 20 made it 4-1. Four losses followed, including 0-35 at Loyalsock on Oct. 4 and 0-38 against Montoursville on Oct. 11.

Cody Smith's EasternPAFootball account of that Aug. 30 home game has the same 39-13, and Smith called it the first 2-0 start since 2011. Bloomsburg's quarters were 7-6-0-0. Mifflinburg's were 7-7-12-13. Gage Klinger scored from the 3. Andrew Diehl returned the kickoff 89 yards to tie it. Daniel Guzevich then caught an 86-yard score from Jack Howell. Mason Breed ran for scores of 11, 8, 3, and 1 yard and finished with 179 yards on 24 carries. Smith wrote that Mifflinburg gained 234 rushing yards. The individual rushing lines add to 231. The story says the Wildcats did not throw in the second half. Michael Antonyuk's 26-yard blocked-punt return is the last line in the scoring summary, at 4:10 of the fourth quarter. The story calls it the final play. Gary DeGroat was 6 of 9 for 42 yards and an interception. Jacob Reitz was 1 of 3 for 15. The rushing line prints Rylee Shahl at four carries for 9 yards. The receiving line spells Stahl, four catches for 37. Howell was 6 of 15 for 135 yards, a touchdown, and an interception. Smith wrote that Mifflinburg had lost 39-0 at Bloomsburg the year before.

Cody Smith's EasternPAFootball account of Oct. 25 has Mifflinburg beating Lewisburg 17-14 at home. At halftime Lewisburg was given the Little Brown Jug, 12-8, for the previous school year's all-sports series. The football result put a point on the new year's series. Mason Breed scored from the 5 and later from the 19, and finished with 47 yards on 14 carries. Gary DeGroat was 7 of 10 for 77 yards. On third-and-27 he found Michael Antonyuk for 35 yards to keep the first scoring drive going. Freshman Andrew Diehl intercepted two passes. After the second, Gabe Stetler kicked a 25-yard field goal and Mifflinburg led 17-6 with 11:55 left. Nick Shedleski threw for 301 yards and two interceptions. With 1:57 left he hit Cam Michaels for 81 yards. Smith wrote that the throw broke Shedleski's Lewisburg career record for touchdown passes, which then stood at 41. Simeon Beiler caught the two-point conversion. Lewisburg's onside kick rolled out of bounds. The scoring line in the story is 0-7-7-3 for Mifflinburg and 0-0-6-8 for Lewisburg.

The win ended a four-game losing streak after a 4-1 start. Smith called the regular season 5-5, the first .500 regular season since 2013. The year did not stay there. On Nov. 1 the schedule has a playoff loss at Loyalsock, 0-38. Loyalsock's quarters on that log are 7-7-14-10.
