Montoursville comes back to Market Street

Montoursville is at Mifflinburg Area HS Stadium on Friday, Oct. 23. Kickoff is 7. EasternPAFootball does not mark the game as Heartland Division III. Mifflinburg is 6-2 and 4-1 in the division on that schedule.

Chris Masse's Oct. 19 Sun-Gazette column has Montoursville at 5-3 after a 28-7 win over Central Mountain. He wrote that the Warriors allowed 38 yards, that Central Mountain's touchdown followed a turnover at the 12, and that Elijah Eck threw for 127 yards and ran for two scores. Brayden Burkett intercepted two passes in that game. Masse called Friday a rematch with the defending District 4 Class AAA champion, after Mifflinburg beat Montoursville twice in 2025, and wrote that the winner could land the No. 3 seed in the Class AAA bracket.

Those two 2025 wins are on the team schedule: 35-7 at Montoursville on Sept. 12, and 35-12 at home on Nov. 7, the game the championships page lists as District IV. In 2024 Montoursville won both meetings, 27-20 in the regular season and 28-27 in the district opener. The series page still has Montoursville ahead, 57-11-1 in 69 meetings.
